The Story of Bleach Bypass and the Cabin

I got to spend this weekend with seven of my favorite people in the world. Six (Dustin, James, Matt Metsker, Matt Kellen, Tim, and Peter) were my college roommates, and one (Corey) I meet through church.

We spent four days at James' cabin fishing, grilling, hiking, and firing projectiles with the largest slingshot I've ever seen.

I wanted to post a couple photographs from the weekend, not so much to share the details of the weekend but to show a processing technique I've been playing with recently. One of the guys on the trip (Tim) recently blogged about this processing technique and got me thinking about it. I don't use the exact same method as he would, and the results are slightly different, but it is an interesting effect nonetheless.

Here are some shots of Matt Kellen, processed using the contrasty-bleach-bypass-simulation-type-thing.

  1. I think this is my favorite style of picture modifying that you've shown on here. The pictures look very nice. You didn't want to post any of Tim posing? Note, it's spelled college, not collage.

  2. Hey, it's Shannon Walker- just found the link to your blog via Kristen's blog. Fun to look at some of your pics. I really love this style and was thinking "I should really do this", then I went to Tim's blog and thought "I don't think I could ever do this". Anyway, maybe there's a shortcut, or it isn't quite as complicated as it sounds. Hope you're well and glad your got a little reunion. It will be fun to check in with your pics!
