Last week, I photographed the Heeringa kids on the beach across the street from their home. This was a special shoot for me, because the Heeringas were my first ever paying photo job just this last winter. You can see our first outing here.
Anyway, as usual these kids were full of energy and it was nearly impossible to get them all settled and looking at the camera at the same time. That's okay, though. We did what we could, and I ended up just shooting a whole bunch of candid action shots in addition to the few group-where-everyone-is-looking-and-smiling shots that I could get. (I think the photojournalistic/candid style shots are more interesting anyway.)
Here are some shots from the day:

Spokane Weekend
Things to note about this last weekend in Spokane:
1) I found my sunglasses (after I dunked my head in the lake while I was wearing them).
2) I found my wedding ring (after I left it on the beach and walked half and hour back to our car).
3) I broke Mindy's grandma's wind chime (but she said it was pretty old anyway).
4) I forgot to pack my deodorant (but in 100+ degree heat, who's gonna have the energy to care about that?).
Here are some shots from this last Friday through Tuesday:
Mindy's brother Stephen played in Hoopfest, which is the biggest three on three basketball tournament in the world.
This is a cool set of escalators in the downtown mall in Spokane.
Basking in the sun with my wife, who would later ask me, "Hey, where's your wedding ring?"
On the trail back from the beach. I found my ring and decided it was worth a very mediocre picture to remember the moment:
Mindy's Grandma Ludy watched as her grandkids played "lasso-golf":
I hooked three on the top rung. I was very impressed:
This was the first time we had all of Mindy's family together for a very long time, so we grabbed some pictures to remember it:
