Karl: Bellingham Senior Portraits

It's catch up time.  I'm hoping to get bunch more posts done in these next few weeks.  First up is Karl, a senior at Squalicum this year.

Heidi and Nick: Bellwether Hotel Wedding

Heidi and Nick had such a perfect day for their wedding.  It was held at the Bellwether Hotel in Bellingham in September.  September is usually the perfect month for weddings in Washington, but on this day all signs were pointing to rain all day long.  Mindy and I checked the weather forecast repeatedly in the days leading up to the wedding, came extra early and scouted dry locations for throughout the day, packed umbrellas for everyone, and didn't have a single drop of rain all day.  In fact, during their bride and groom portrait session, the clouds broke away and we ended up using the sun to get our look, as opposed to just trying to stay dry!  ...and did I mention the amazing floral design by Colleen Elkins of Botanikal?  Everything just came together perfectly.

I said it before, but Heidi and Nick were great to be around on their wedding day.  Despite threatening rain, they have huge smiles in every one of their wedding pictures.  That's a great way to start a marriage.  Thanks again guys for a great day.  We wish you the best.

It's Family Portrait Time!

You know how every year you intend to get great family portraits for Christmas?  ...and then you get really busy? ...and it gets really dark and rainy?  Well, maybe this is your year.  Melissa Cline just emailed me about a week ago and look what they got.  Cow's licking their elbows.  And great family portraits of course.

Pure Bliss Desserts!

Our friend Andi just opened an new dessert shop in Bellingham called Pure Bliss Desserts.  She does an amazing job, and her shop has a very fun and unique feel.  You should check it out! (It's at 1424 Cornwall, right next to Chocolate Necessities).

Jessa and Beau: Backyard Wedding Reception

...I loved this wedding.  I love the guests in 20's era clothing, the laughing at every turn, and how the atmosphere of the wedding changed as the sun when down and the lanterns came on.
